Autumn leaves were paint in the water.
Green River, The Dixie Chicks
Fallin into autumn
on an artist’s canvas,
paintin’ trees
with wide brush strokes.
Swirlin’, twirlin’ mixin’ colors,
blendin’ watercolors
so they’re just right.
Oranges, yellows, and reds,
against the backdrop
of deep green trees,
high in the mountains—
cool, crisp colors,
breathtaking
to see.
A sea of vibrant hues
blazin through branches,
sun-kissed beams of light
shinin into my heart.
Piercin’, soakin’, absorbin’ colors
blendin’ emotions
so they’re just right.
Fallin into autumn—
a season of change,
to put the past behind,
to live in the present,
to look toward
the future.
This fall,
May you brush your canvas with the colors that speak to you, swirlin’ the paint to create your own personal masterpiece.
